Human rights activist Dr. Isaac Newton Kinity has accused the USA of endangering impoverished Kenyans following reports that the Trump administration plans to send Americans exposed to Ebola to a quarantine and treatment facility in Kenya.

In a statement published on his social media account, Kinity criticized the move, arguing that Kenya is already struggling with poverty, corruption and pressure on the healthcare system.

“Please, the USA should stop endangering the already impoverished Kenyan community with victims of Ebola infection which may spread to the entire nation already on its knees from poverty emanating from the looted public funds,” Dr. Kinity stated.

According to international media reports, the Trump administration is planning to establish a quarantine and treatment center in Kenya for Americans exposed to Ebola while abroad instead of transporting them back to the United States.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio defended the move, saying that they cannot and will not allow any cases of Ebola to enter the United States.

Dr. Kinity who serves as a member of the Presidential Advisory Board RNC USA. questioned why the United States, which has advanced healthcare systems and financial resources, would support treatment arrangements outside its borders instead of handling such cases domestically.

“The USA has the ability to fight and control Ebola and other infectious diseases. It has money and other resources to fight different kinds of diseases,” he said.

He further warned that Kenya’s struggling public healthcare system could face enormous pressure if exposed to any Ebola-related emergency adding that transforming Kenya into a sanctuary of Ebola victims is not different from digging graves for the suffering and agonized Kenyans.

Reports by international media organizations indicate that the proposed facility could be established in Laikipia and would involve cooperation between U.S. and Kenyan authorities.

Kenya’s government has confirmed discussions with the United States on Ebola preparedness and response mechanisms, although officials say any cooperation would be guided by Kenyan laws and public health regulations.

The debate has since triggered mixed reactions online, with some Kenyans expressing fears over public safety and healthcare preparedness, while others called for calm and reliance on verified information from health authorities.

Health experts maintain that Ebola remains one of the world’s deadliest infectious diseases and requires specialized isolation units, strict containment systems and highly trained medical personnel.
