Presidential hopeful Dr Isaac Newton Kinity has been hospitalised following a road accident along Dixwell Avenue in the United States.
Dr Kinity is currently receiving treatment at Yale New Haven Hospital, where he was taken shortly after the incident. Details surrounding the cause of the crash have not been disclosed.
Speaking to The Nyanza Review on Tuesday 21, the former trade unionist said he is recovering well and remains optimistic about his condition.
“I am recuperating well and hope to resume my activities once I am discharged,” he said.
The accident comes just months after the former trade unionist publicly announced his intention to run for the presidency in 2027.
Dr Kinity has in recent months remained active in public discourse on governance, accountability and social justice, positioning himself as a vocal figure in conversations around leadership and reform.
Authorities in New Haven have not yet released an official statement detailing the circumstances of the accident, including whether other vehicles were involved.

Medical officials at Yale New Haven Hospital have also not issued a formal update beyond Dr Kinity’s own remarks.
Despite limited details, his confirmation that he is recovering has provided reassurance to his supporters and associates.
There is no confirmed timeline for his discharge, and it remains unclear when he will resume his public and political engagements.
Further updates are expected as more information becomes available from relevant authorities and his team.
