The General Overseer of Together in Jesus Name Ministry Bishop Lucas Okumu Ogai has called on President Ruto’s administration to lower the high cost of living.

Speaking to The Nyanza Review on Wednesday at the church precinct Ogai expressed concerns saying that the exorbitant cost of living has become a major burden to Kenyans especially the unemployed youths who toil round the clock to make ends meet.

“As a church, we urge the national government to put effective strategies in place to help lower the high cost of living.” said Bishop Ogai

Ogai who was speaking after delivering the new year message themed; “Another year of Grace and Fruitfulness” expressed concerns on the the surge in the number of fatalities as a result of abject poverty as reported in a number of media houses across the country.

He said that a caring government has a duty to feed and take care of its people.

On the ongoing calls against abduction of Kenyans. Ogai called upon the government to consider looking into the matter noting that the issue is gradually escalating and will soon become a major threat to national peace should the government fail to address it.

“I believe that as Kenyans, it’s our constitutional right to be protected by the law. I am calling upon the government to take charge and stop these abductions and arbitrary arrest of Kenyans, especially the human rights activists”, he said.

The clergyman also asked Kenyans to come together and be ambassadors of peace adding that it’s in such unity that the nation will grow.
