In an intriguing weekend of interesting clashes, AFC Leopards alias Ingwe dropped points in a 1-1 draw with Sofapaka while defending champions Gor Mahia also lost to Police FC in Muranga to keep their under fire interim coach Zedekiah “Zico” Otieno in danger. The mighty Shabana also shocked table-topping KCB 2-0 in Gusii Stadium. The Brewers , Tusker, beat Bidco United 2-1 to be joint top with KCB . Tusker are only 2nd because of their inferior goal difference.
In other results new boys Mara Sugar beat Kariobangi Sharks 1-0 to continue with their impressive start in the big league. Bandari were held to a 2 all draw by the slum boys Mathare United. Talanta and City Stars drew 1 all , the mailmen Posta Rangers narrowly lost 1-0 away in Muranga as Ulinzi stars held Kakamega Homeboyz to a 1-1 draw in Mumias Stadium.
This round of fixtures leaves KCB on top the table after 14 rounds of fixtures with 24 points. Tusker are 2nd on 24 points but with a poorer goal difference compared to the Bankers. Bandari and Police round up the top 4 on 22 and 20 points respectively. Shabana rose to 5th after their impressive win over KCB on 20 points. AFC Leopards are 6th while defending champions Gor Mahia are 8th even though the latter have 2 games in hand.
Posta Rangers remain bottom on 11 points and are joined in the relegation zone by Ulinzi stars with 13 points.
