Subsequent to Chemase police station attack in Nandi county on January 2, the police recovered the National and Kenya Police Service Flag during their patrol in Chepswerta market last night from a FORD tractor with the registration number KSW 364.

These items were stolen when the livid civilians stormed into the police station and set on fire a murder suspect named Victor Kimtai who was held in custody by the police, and also scorched into ashes a police Ford ranger motor vehicle from Potopoto police station.

The police in Kapsabet also arrested the former nominated MCA Kisumu, Caren Atieno Muga, who allegedly is the mother of one of the prime suspects in the murder of Enock Kipsang whose private parts were chopped off and decapitated in the Chemase incident.

Muga was arrested along Chemelil-Miwani-Kisumu road in a suspected organ trafficking case. Seemingly, she was fleeing her residence from the fear of being lynched by the aroused civilians, and her Toyota Harder motor vehicle is also being detained as an exhibit at the Kapsabet police station.

“We are closing in on the other prime suspects in the matter here-in, as the case is Pending Arrest of Known Accused with DCI Tinderet dealing.” The National Police Service reported

Also, the Deputy Inspectors General, Eliud Lagat (Kenya Police) and Gilbert Masengeli (Administration police) held a security consultive meeting with Senior National Police Service officers from all the Sub-Counties in Nandi led by Nandi CPC,Dickens Njogu.

“It is appropriate that you work with the community and local leaders to foster peace, trust and tranquility.” The DIGs urged the commanders.

They also directed that a full investigation should be logically concluded on the Chemase incident. They further iterated IG Douglas Kanja’s call on making police stations centers of excellence in police operations and service delivery.
