Owalo Delivers Performance Contract for Ministry of Environment, Climate Change & Forestry

Deputy Chief of Staff in charge of Performance and Delivery Management, Eliud Owalo in a significant step for environmental management, successfully negotiated and delivered the Performance Contract for the Ministry of Environment on October 22, 2024.

This contract will establish a formal framework for performance assessment, effective until June 30, 2025.

The event brought together esteemed officials from various governmental departments, including the Cabinet Office, the State Department of Parliamentary Affairs, and the Inspectorate of State Corporations.

The ministry’s delegation was led by Hon. Aden Bare Duale, EGH – CS, along with Principal Secretaries Dr. Eng. Festus Ng’eno, MIEK, and Mr. Gitonga Mugambi, EBS.

Notable attendees included Alex Lemarkok, CEO of the Kenya Forest Service; Dr. Jane Njuguna, Acting CEO of the Kenya Forestry Research Institute; Mamo B. Mamo, Director General of the National Environment Management Authority; Samson Toniok, CEO of the Net Fund; David Gikungu, Director of the Kenya Meteorological Department; Belinda Okello, CEO of the National Environment Tribunal; and Mary Njogu from the National Environment Complaints Committee.

This collaborative initiative emphasizes a strong commitment to enhancing performance management and service delivery, with a focus on accountability for results.
