Mumias East Member of Parliament Hon. Peter Salasya has angered Kenyans online for dragging former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga’s name into NHIF and Social Health Authority (SHA).
While speaking at an unidentified function in Kakamega, Salasya said that Raila Odinga has joined President William Ruto’s administration and is causing suffering to Kenyans.
“ Lakini leo tunashangazwa kwamba amejiunga (Raila) na wale watu ambao wanaumiza Wakenya…wametoa NHIF as if NHIF ilikuwa inawachuna na wanaleta mambo ya sijui SHA SHA SHA. Sasa SHA ni nini,” the lawmaker said, which is loosely translated to, ‘today we are surprised that Raila has joined with the people who are hurting Kenyans. They have replaced NHIF with SHA. So what is SHA SHA…’
The MP backed up his video with a post saying that it is a disappointment as Raila has turned to hurt Kenyans. The MP affirmed that he is ambitious and hopeful he will be Kenya’s president and avert his people from the yoke of suffering.
“We are deeply astonished and disappointed by the actions of our esteemed ODM leader, who has aligned with those responsible for policies that harm Kenyans, such as replacing NHIF with SHA. However, I remain determined and hopeful; one day, I will lead this nation as President and work tirelessly to end the suffering of our people,’’ he wrote.
However, all did not go as planned with him as his online followers turned against him. They strongly condemned him, calling him a clown.
Facebook user Abdallah Murtaza told the MP to learn from Raila Odinga since what the enigma can see while sitting, Salasya cannot see whilst at the top of KICC.
He wrote, “ I can only advise you for free. Learn politics from senior Raila. What Raila can see while sitting you can’t see ukiwa juu ya KICC in Nairobi. DAP and WIPER parties wont see what Raila can see.”
Salasya was jilted as a politician who doesn’t have leadership qualities, claiming that voters only gave him votes due to sympathy.
The citizens went further criticising the law maker as a politician who cannot express fully in English yet he aspires to be the President.
