Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has dismissed claims a circular going around social media of a clarifying his visit to State House on Wednesday, March 12.
Musyoka said that he will not be moved by fake news and propaganda by his critics to betray Kenyans, in what he lately calls the Peoples Loyal Coalition.
He further refuted claims that he will be joining the Kenya Kwanza Alliance led by President William Ruto, vowing never to be part of the regime.
“NO amount of Propaganda, Fake News, or Disinformation can DERAIL the People’s Loyal Coalition. I emphasize unequivocally that as the Peoples Loyal Coalition, we will NEVER BETRAY the Kenyan people for temporary comfort. We shall NEVER be part of the Chapati Kleptocracy,” Musyoka stated.
The viral letter dated March, 12, indicated that he had a ‘friendly breakfast’ with the president, and was not in anyway politically related or negotiations.
On Friday, March 7, the president and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), to work together, under a 10 point Joint Framework.
The two leaders said their handshake was for the good of the people, to solve the issues Kenyans are grappling with including high cost of living, reconciling the country, implementation of the contentious two thirds gender rule, among other economic issues.
While in Kiambu, Raila said that his stands have not shifted, despite the president’s move to approach him, as it was for the people, and he has not betrayed Kenyans.
However, their new formed friendship received a lot of criticism from leaders in opposition, Musyoka said the Joint Framework is the biggest betrayal of Kenyans. His sentiments supported by his counterpart from Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) Eugene Wamalwa.
The past few weeks in the country has witnessed political shift, with new political outfits expected in the 2027 general elections.
