Suna East Member of Parliament, Hon. Junet Mohamed has criticised politicians for their blemish utterances to the Orange Democratic Movement, while breaking his silence over President William Ruto’s Cabinet reshuffle.
While welcoming the President’s move, Junet slammed those individuals who have been complaining of ODM members being infiltrated in the Kenya Kwanza Government, noting that they have now been incorporated.
He remarked that the broad-based government is getting broader, after the President included former President, H.E Uhuru Kenyatta in his administration. Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo, was appointed the CS for ICT, former Health CS Mutahi Kagwe appointed Livestock and Agriculture CS while former Nakuru Governor, Lee Kinyanjui as Investments, Trade and Industry CS.
“Now broad based government is getting broader. Imepanuka. This is because the government is for all citizens, not an individual. The work of the government is to deliver and all Kenyans are taxpayers,” said Junet.
He stressed that those ODM members that Ruto included in his administration were suitable for the job and that’s why they were absorbed, noting that if one is skilled for a particular government position, he or she should be left to deliver without uncalled for criticism.
“When our experts joined the government, some made noises. If somebody is experienced and skilled to work, let him work. We are backing up the President in his bid to enlarge the government. Let him broaden it. Those who complained that ODM is in government have also been absorbed. What will they now say?” Questioned the lawmaker.
Junet acknowledged the move, contrary to what Kenyans expected, since he had been rumoured to be fixed in the Interior ministry, that was in turn delegated to Kipchumba Murkomen, who held the Youths Affairs, Sports and Creative Industry docket.
Junet spoke in Suna East in Migori County during the burial of Majwek Isaiah Kiburo, who was the ODM Chairperson for Suna Central Ward in the constituency.
The lawmaker also officially launched the Junet Mohamed Football Tournament, that has been running from December 18, 2024 where the finals are expected to be played on January 1, 2025.
The tournament aims at fostering community engagement, promotion of social activities, and supporting other local initiatives.
