Grief has gripped the residents of Korando A village in Otonglo, Kisumu central location, Kisumu West Sub County Kisumu county following the brutal killing of a 37 year old mother of two.

Narrating the sorrowful incident to The Nyanza Review at her Otonglo home today, the mother of the deceased, Monica Obinju said her daughter Rosemary Akinyi received a call through her mobile phone at around 5 am today.

She explained that after talking briefly with her caller, she walked out of the house where she had spent a night with her mother to meet with her caller.

In order to confirm who had called her daughter at that odd hour, she too walked outside of the house and saw the face of a familiar man who always walked with her daughter.

Convinced that her daughter was in safe hands she returned to the house and slept, but surprisingly, she received a call from someone who knew her at around 7.30 am today that her daughter had been found dead opposite a mattress factory along the Kisumu Busia highway.

” Shocked beyond words, I rushed to the scene with lightning speed and confirmed that it was indeed my daughter who had been murdered. I then tried to contact the man who had come to pick my daughter but he couldn’t be reached,” said the mother.

The body of the deceased was removed and taken to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga General Hospital mortuary (formerly Russia hospital).

Escalating insecurity especially in Kisumu West Sub County has caused a lot of concerns among elected leaders who had on majority of occasions urged the law enforcement officers to step up their patrols.
