Trump announced yesterday that Palestinians will not have the right to return to Gaza,  because he is planning to own the strip and transform it into what he described as “Riviera of the Middle East.”

Trump’s plan includes displacement of Palestinians from Gaza, suggesting that they resettle in neighboring countries like Egypt and Jordan.

According to him, the Palestine are not to return under his plan, framing his plan as a ‘real estate development opportunity’ for the territory. As a way of ensuring compliance, Trump to hold any aid from US to these countries.

The Arab states that Trump urged to assimilate the displaced Palestinians that is, Egypt and Jordan have firmly rejected this proposal. Egypt described Trump’s move as a blatant violation of international law potentially jeopardizing ceasefire talks and regional talks.

There’s also a unified front among Arab leaders against this plan, with countries like Saudi Arabia and UAE strongly showing opposition, dreading that it could destabilize the region. There has also been a global response for this plan, with widespread criticism from international bodies and nation like Germany, Brazil and various U.N. officials citing concerns over human rights and destabilization of Eastern politics.

Arab leaders also argued that absorbing large number of Palestine refugees would pose both security risks and have socio-economic impacts on their countries.

In response to Trump’s plan, Egypt has announced an emergency Arab summit to discuss these new developments, indicating a diplomatic pushback against the U.S. protocol.

“This isn’t just offensive—it’s dehumanizing. Millions of people have suffered and died, and his takeaway is land development? Imagine losing your home, your family, your history only to be told your homeland is now just a real estate opportunity,” Netizens criticized Trump
