The former president of the Law Society of Kenya Nelson Havi has given Chief Justice Martha Koome an ultimatum to resign or forced to do so.

In his X account, Havi gave the CJ until January 14, 2025 to resign from her position as the CJ, after Koome had refused to bow to pressure over her ouster following corruption claims at the Judiciary Service Commission.

Havi has also asked other six Supreme Court judges to spearhead her removal or else, they will also face the purge if the do not comply.

“The deadline I gave for C J Martha Koome to resign is 14-1-2025. The six other Judges of the Supreme Court can prevail upon her to go. If they do not, all seven will have to go,” said Havi.

He went ahead warning them that if they do not align to the notice, he will go ahead and submit a petition seeking their removal from the Judiciary.

“They have until tomorrow 9.00 am whereafter I will present a petition for their removal to the JSC,” admitted the former LSK President.

Lawyer Ahmednassir Abdullahi, who has been on the frontline accusing the JSC of corruption, terming it ‘JurisPesa’  backed up Nelson Havi. He urged Koome to go and not take Havi’s warnings lightly.

“Please Chief Justice Martha Koome don’t take this NOTICE lightly…just Go!” He said.

The JSC has been experiencing criticism over alleged bribery by Kenyans led by senior counsels.
