Unknown goons have reportedly attacked former Deputy President, Hon. Rigathi Gachagua while attending a burial in Limuru.

Confirming the incident, Kiambu Senator Karungo Thang’wa has exemplified the attack as assassination attempt on the former DP’s life. While thanking the Limuru people for standing with Gachagua during the stampede, Karungo has confirmed that the leader is safe and sound. He has, however, declared that despite the intimidations, they will not be silenced in their movements and plans.

“It was an assassination attempt. But the People’s Deputy President is safe. Asanteni sana, watu wa Limuru, for ensuring our safety. We will not be intimidated or silenced—now we know!” Said Karungo.

From videos posted online, congregants who were in attendance, were recorded scampering for safety as unknown value of property was destroyed.

Rigathi Gachagua’s car was  destroyed on its rear window, while several people sustained serious injuries.

It is yet to be established the people involved in the mess as the leader has not given any update concerning the same.

This comes a few days after the leader announced his plans to come back in the political arena January next year.

On November 21, 2024, Gachagua exposed that there were unmarked cars following his movements, taking notes of people he associates with.

“Security agents in unmarked cars have been following me wherever I go. They are parking at the entrance of my Nairobi residence, taking notes of all my visitors, and they trail me whenever I leave the house, even all the way to my rural home in Nyeri,” Gachagua said.
