NARC Kenya Party Leader and Senior Counsel Martha Karua, in a joint press release with other human rights activists, have come out exposing President William Ruto’s alleged abductors.

According to a press release dated 27th October 2024, Karua with former Chief Justice Dr. Willy Mutunga, activists Khelef Khalifa, Kabando Wa Kabando and Mukhisa Kituyi, have criticized Ruto’s regime over increased abductions, torture and killings of innocent Kenyans.

This comes hours after human rights defender, Boniface Mwangi was abducted by unknown people at his Machakos home early in the morning today.

The leader, in light to this, has revealed that the government is using abduction squads consisting of army and the police from Ruto’s ethnic group and also foreigners from Uganda, Burundi and Congo.

She went further unearthing that these abductors are being accommodated near impeached Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s residence in Karen and Ole Polos in Kajiado.

“Credible sources indicate the abduction squads consisting officers from the army and the police mainly from Dr. William Ruto’s ethnic group with foreigners possibly drawn from Burundi, Uganda and Congo are part of these squads housed at Karen near the DP residence and Ole Polos in Kajiado,” read the statement.

The human rights activists slammed the Government, claiming that it is a regime that needs to be pulled out of power due to its atrocities to its people.

“A regime that finds it necessary to terrorise, abduct and murder its citizens is a regime without any moral authority to govern and needs to be forced out of power.”

The activists have demanded an immediate release of the abducted activist Boniface Mwangi, and extrajudicial killings be immediately stopped.

Additionally, they demand that independent investigations be done and those involved in abducting, torturing and killing innocent Kenyans be brought to book.

Consequently, the activists also ask that international oversight be involved into the matter, urging signatories such as United Nations, African Union and other regional bodies to help in curbing this vice.

They have also urged Kenyans to stand in solidarity and say no to this regime, that has turned into inflicting pains and sufferings on Kenyans.

“We urge Kenyans to be each other’s keeper and to stand up for each other and to protect one another as necessary. It is time to say enough is enough to this rogue regime and those who aided and abet,” wrote Martha Karua.

Many Kenyans have been abducted, tortured, oppressed and others killed, especially during the Gen Z demonstrations that happened months ago. This trend has, however not stopped.

Recently, John Njuguna Kuria was abducted and killed by unknown people in Kapenguria. Popular government critic, Maverick Aoko has also been reportedly missing for the past two days now.
