Following the brilliant display Raila Odinga demonstrated during the Mjadala Africa Debate held on Addis Ababa yesterday, the former Prime Minister has received a lot of praises.

On his X account, Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei noted that Raila has significantly calmed down noise from social media, particularly from his opposition who could not find the basis of criticising him. The Senator highlighted that Odinga showed his eminent knowledge and understanding of Africa and global concerns.

“The noise on X platform has significantly gone down after Raila exemplary performance yesterday at African union chairmanship debate. He demonstrated unmatched sharpness, wisdom, maturity and understanding of Africa and global issues,” said Cherargei.

The Nandi Senator slammed Raila Odinga’s critics, laughing them off while assuring them that Raila will win the African Union Chairman seat. He claimed that so far, Raila has been backed up by more than 40 African heads of states, surpassing the required threshold.

“When Baba wins AUC seat I don’t know where will the doomsayers and naysayers hide. More than 40 heads of state support Odinga’s candidature,” confirmed the Senator.

On the same, Kisumu Governor, Prof Anyang Nyong’o corroborated that Raila performed very well during the debate, and those who watched the debate, chose Raila over the other two contestants.

“I have talked to my academic colleagues in various parts of Africa who watched the debate among the three candidates competing to be elected as chairman of the African Union and the verdict seems unanimously clear:- Raila Amolo Odinga performed much better than the other two candidates who also did their best,” said the Governor.

Nyong’o pointed out that the former PM has vast knowledge and experience of Africa, having offered his services during his tenure as the High Representative for infrastructural development.

“Having already worked for the AU as the High Representative for infrastructural development, Raila definitely built on this experience to respond to questions from the perspective of a lived experience on how the AU works and what still needs to be done at the leadership level to make it work better.”

He appended that the debate showcased Odinga as the best candidate fit for the AU Chairmanship position, and Africa witnessed what the leader manifested.

“Following the debate, the AU membership countries now know who is best suited to become the next Chairman.

Sure of Odinga’s victory, he urged the candidate to embrace Africa since his leadership is earnestly waited.

“We are proud of you. Go Captain, go; Africa is eagerly waiting for your leadership as Chairman of the AU,” urged Nyong’o.
