Kenyans have called out on the Labor and Protection Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua after successful candidates who took part in recruitment of Dubai jobs on January 3 and 4, at Kenya coast National polytechnic asked to pay a total fee for the travel expense which was not initially included in the advertisement.

The candidates who were initially told to carry their National Identification cards as the only requirement were dumb founded when the recruiting agency told them to pay Ksh 30,000 and another Ksh 7000 for the medical expenses

“Many of us went there with no means to pay, only to be blindsided by these demands. Why was this not disclosed from the start? What’s really happening here?” One of the recruited candidates lamented.

Other Kenyans joined these candidates to wallow in their disappointment, while demanding a clarification from the CS Alfred Mutua and the Government in regard to these additional charges, and are questioning the transparency of the process.

“How can a civil servant promote fraudulent job opportunities?” An X user by the Not nice commented.

“My issue is that there are Kenyans who actually still believe anything this Government says.” He added.

Contrary to this, some defended the CS, saying that he mentioned the additional charges and those who did not grasp that part are clearly misguided.

“Waziri clearly mentioned the fee,” Julio Caesar Mutuku commented.

“They only promised to make the opportunity more accessible by negotiating reduced and affordable costs,” saidc Emmanuel .

The development leave Kenyans, who saw a new dawn when the Government announced 10,000 slots per month for jobs abroad, at crossroads, after their dream of getting greener pastures seemingly shattered.

Most of the candidates insisted that they could have not misunderstood the message because the CS repeatedly announced the opportunities for the skilled and unskilled, with a tax-free income and covered travel expenses.
