Aspiring Suna East Constituency MP Hon. Bruno Otieno Liende has promised to provide financial support to a student who was supposed to join Moi University but due to financial constrains, has not joined the institution.
A week after Ramogi TV aired Brighton Otieno’s plight, Bruno has taken an initiative to offer help to the troubled student.
Confirming in his Facebook page, the Suna East MP hopeful, said that he is ready to carter for Brighton’s school fees until he finishes his university education.
“Brighton Otieno , I am going to support you. Ni mimi na wewe hadi umalize masomo. Insha Allah,” affirmed the leader.
The student scored a mean grade of A- and is yet to join the university to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
Brighton coming from a poor background, could not afford to pursue his university education due to high fees required as brought by the New University Funding model.
The aspirant will be required to pay about Kshs. 250,000 every year to account for the student’s fees for four years in the institution.
Brighton, a bonafide resident of Kakrao ward in Suna East Constituency, was supposed to report to Moi University on 26th August this year, according to his admission letter.
In regards to this development, Bruno has received acknowledgements from people who recognised his good gestures in extending his hands to offer support to the embattled student.
“This is marvelous Mheshimiwa, we’re glad you’re putting a smile on our FACES once again. We’re much ready for your leadership come 2027. Thank you, make SUNA EAST GREAT MHESHIMIWA,’’ wrote Allan Ke.
Travin Scott said that Bruno is a leader who is true to his words.
He said, “Bossy anasema nakutenda , Be blessed Bossy , Allah siku zote. Mbele pamoja , Hon. Bruno Otieno Liende the peoples Choice.”
Others urged the leader to help the student secure another institution of higher learning since Moi University is at the verge of closure due to financial muddles.
“God had a reason to delay him from joining Moi. The institution is not transacting any business. Students ain’t studying. Sir help him, he can join another institution,’’ urged Destiny Kidd.
Kelvin Kevoh while appreciating the good gesture, urged, “ That’s commendable . Lakini mi naona hasiende Moi university coz there’s corruption in that school that it can be closed any time soon.’’
Stanley John was not also left outside in thanking Bruno.
He said, “Thanks and be blessed to continue transforming and inspiring many lives.”
Bruno among other aspiring leader are poised to uproot the leadership of current MP Junet Mohamed, whom they claim has abandoned his course. Junet is in his third tenure as an MP since 2013.
