Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has vowed not to set foot in State House, following President William Ruto resonse to his speech on Monday in Kakamega.
Salasya, remarks seemed to nager Ruto, who is on a six-day development tour in Western, said he will deal with him, to ensure that he is back in line, as he is a newbie in the political scenes.
Responding to Ruto after later on Monday evening, Salsaya wrote on his X account that he will not visit State House, as he might be slapped, and he is better off outside government.”
“I will not go to State House, they might slap me! I’m okay outside here,” Salasya wrote.
What did Salasya say?
During his speech, Salasya called out the president’s advisors, for failing to tell him the reality of the situation Kenyans are facing, including the embattled Social Health Authority (SHA).
“Mr. President I would like to say let us involve stakeholders, things will run smoothly, including SHA. SHA is not working because we did not involve the public and stakeholders,” Salasya fearlessly remarked.
He further asked Ruto to make him his personal advisor, as his close allies are not telling him the truth about his new strategies including the university funding model, despite having great intentions for the country.
“Take me as your personal advisor, because people surrounding you are not saying the truth. They tell you SHA is working and it is not, the new model is also not working. I know you as a visionary leader, but there are cartels surrounding you in government shielding the truth from you,” he further stated.
How Ruto will deal with Salasya
Responding to Salasya, Ruto called the first term MP as a newbie in the political scene, terming him as good leader but oversteps the limits, and asked him to stop misleading Kenyans.
“You have a job, they have employed you. let us work for this people to also work. Things do not work like that. Let us not leaders be the ones misleading Kenyans. You’re a good leader but sometimes you go above limits, I will straighten him a bit to stay on course,” Ruto stated.
However, Nyandarua senator John Methu, a close ally of former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua has defended Salasya, asking the president to give a thought on Salasya’s sentiments.
