A 27 year – old man has been mauled to death by dogs in Bondo sub – county

The man identified as Stephen Lilungo who worked as a home guard was allegedly mauled to death and his body eaten by his employer’s dogs a few days ago, police have said

Lilungo, an employee of Ken Were Miseda was tasked with taking care of the dogs, according to Bondo sub-county Criminal Investigations Officer Reuben Onchoka

Onchoka in his address to the press  said that after getting the information from Were Miseda’s neighbors, police officers visited the scene and only recovered a skeleton which is believed to belong to Lilungo.

Onchoka further said that the police have already summoned the owner of the home, who works as a Veterinary Officer to record a statement over the matter.

Ajigo sub-location assistant chief Stephen Aluoch said that Lilungo who hails from Kakamega was recently employed to take care of the dogs at the home of Miseda who trades in hybrid dogs.

Aluoch revealed that the incident was discovered on Saturday evening after Miseda, who was still in Eldoret, sent a friend to check on his home guard after he failed to reach him on phone since Thursday last week.

Things took a different turn when Miseda’s friend  only found the dogs running up and down within the compound on arrival and the home guard was missing.

He alerted officers from Lwala Kotiende police station who accessed the home and found a skeleton believed to belong to Lilungo.

The remains of the deceased have since been moved to Bondo sub-county hospital mortuary as police launch investigations into the matter.
