President William Ruto and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga have today Friday, March 7, 2025 officially entered into a political agreement that will see to it that both parties collaborate to forming a broad-based government and working together.

The Partnership Agreement between Kenya Kwanza and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) was signed earlier today at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi, at a ceremony attended by MPs supporting each faction together with the Deputy President Kithure Kindiki.

Speaking during the signing, President Ruto cleared the air on his stance on the agreement citing its benefits to Kenyans and not the parties involved.

“The broad-based arrangement we have is inspired by how we can cross ranks and deal with the issues that affect the people of Kenya and not what’s in it for me or him,” he affirmed.

In the agreement, the UDA and ODM parties will collaborate on national issues using their respective political infrastructures.

The respective parties will also use their expertise for consultations on governance and national policies.

Prior to the official signing ceremony, thousands of ODM supporters gathered at KICC to witness the historic event between Odinga and President Ruto’s ruling party.

A series of consultations had been done recently by ODM leader Raila Odinga held in various parts of the country where he has strong political support to seek opinions and advice for his next move after Africa Union Commission Chairmanship loss.
