During the burial of Maayi Anne Nanyama, mother to Speaker Moses Masika Wetang’ula and Westlands MP Timothy Wanyonyi in Kabuchai, Bungoma County, the event turned political, after Trans Nzoia Governor and former Rift Valley Regional Commissioner, H. E George Natembeya called on the Kenya Kwanza Government to stop abductions that has taken route in the country.
This did not sit well with Majority leader and Kikuyu MP, Kimani Ichung’wah who responded to Natembeya on the spot, in high spirit. He alleged that Natembeya was a key abductor and murderer in the previous regime and a Mau Forest Evictor.
These statements also came after Natembeya criticized politicians seeking president’s support on funerals and public functions yet they have forums for the same whereas when asked in other places they claim to be in government.
“Will it be that at funerals is when we come to request the president for support and you have a forum to tell the president such things yet when he is not there you tell us you are in government, ” he stated concerned.
He further raised eyebrows on the recent abductions and disappearances and deaths experienced across the country calling for an end to the abductions, slamming leaders refuting abduction claims.
” For a leader to stand and tell you that people are abducting themselves and are killing themselves is unfortunate, if not for this hallowed ground, our children are getting lost and being abducted and some killed. We should not cover up the basic truth,” he criticized.
Ichung’wah was keen to the speech, prompting him to expose Natembeya and rewind back memories when Natembeya was Rift Valley Regional Commissioner, where many bodies were found murdered in River Yala in Siaya.
“You cannot claim abduction when you are the key abductor and murderer of Kenyans under the previous regime and evicted people in Mau when you were Rift Valley Regional Commissioner,” Ichung’wah claimed.
Kimani Ichung’wah further revealed that Rigathi Gachagua is the one abducting youths then framing it on President William Ruto, stating that he will soon expose them. He reiterated that their purpose is to divide Kenyans.
“Poleni sana…Go and look for that person we sent away and do divisive politics with him. But you’ll have to look for a different country. Not this country,” he added.
Ichung’wah’s sentiments were echoed by Sirisia MP John Waluke who affirmed that abduction claims are mere propaganda, aimed at tarnishing Ruto’s administration.
“There’s nothing like abductions, it’s just propaganda. Rais Ruto, tunajua wewe umeokoka, lakini saa zingine, weka Biblia kando,” said Waluke.
The Trans Nzoia Governor aldo made a courtesy call for inclusive development in the Western region citing increased level of poverty in Western where the villages are underdeveloped.
