Following today’s reports of the suspension of Naivas Supermarkets operations within Nairobi County, Naivas management have written to the public and stakeholders concerning the said claims.
The supermarket has clarified the statement, citing fake claims regarding expired products and the alleged closure which is an intentional attempt to harm the business and it’s customers.
Nairobi County Health Committee had early today ordered the immediate closure of all Naivas Supermarket outlets in Nairobi due to the sale of expired products.
Speaking today at Naivas Supermarket Moi Avenue branch within CBD, the committee led by MCA Maurice Ochieng ordered that the closure is effective immediately saying that the Supermarket will have to undertake a test on their products and reapply for a certificate of clearance in order to resume their normal operations.
Naivas has now stated that the said claims as mere misinformation on social media and other informal channels.
” We would like to reassure our customers, partners and the general public that no expired products have been found on our shelves, and we maintain stringent internal quality control and stock management systems across all our branches to ensure product safety and compliance with health regulations,” the statement read.
While refuting the closure claims the retail company maintained that none of its branches has been closed by any regulatory or health authority and that all their store are fully operational and compliant with national and county regulations.
