Mathira Constituency Member of Parliament, Hon. Eric Wamumbi has confirmed that he will not defect to opposition, despite impeached Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua making Mathira a government opposition.

The lawmaker assured that Ruto will lead Kenya for 10 years, trusting that in 2027, he will be voted again.

“ William Samoei Ruto will lead kenya for 10 years. H.E. Rigathi Gachagua, EGH has successfully taken my community straight to opposition, and we were at the centre of the government.”

He affirmed that he and his Mathira people will not show President Ruto their back, as they will stay put in government.

“I will not go to opposition, me and many others from Mathira shall stay in government,” he wrote.

A day ago, the MP exposed that Rigathi Gachagua is the man behind the controversial Constitution of Kenya Amendment Bill that proposes extending the President’s term limit from five to seven. The bill also seeks to extend this limit to other elective positions.

“The truth. The bill by Senator Kiprotich Cherargei to extend term limit of the president and other elected leaders from 5 years to 7 years was drafted by officers in the office of the Deputy President, the Chair of the committee that drafted the bill was communication director in the office of the DP.

He added that this bill was to make the Kenya Kwanza Government unfashionable and in order to execute this scheme, Senator Samson Cherargei was approached and he accepted to play along.

“It was agreed that the bill must be moved by a Kalenjin Senator and that is how Senator Cherargei was approached. This was one of the many schemes to make the government unpopular,’’ added the lawmaker.

The bill has received massive uproar and criticism from Kenyans, with leaders refuting its proposals.
