As Manchester United part ways with head coach Eric Ten Hag, players have sent their statements few moments after the announcement.
Taking to his social media account, Kobie Mainoo acknowledged the opportunity the departing boss gave him to showcase his talents.
Mainoo wrote, “Thank you for your trust and belief in me, and for giving me the opportunity to play with my boyhood club”.
Bruno Fernandes wishing the coach all the best in his endeavours, was also grateful for being part of Ten Hag’s team. He praised the good moments and the good deeds Ten Hag has done while serving at Manchester.
He said, “Thanks for everything, boss! I appreciate the trust and the moments we share together, I wish you all the best”.
“Even knowing the last period hasn’t been great from all of us, I hope your fans can keep with you the good things Erik has done for our club,” added the football ace.
Alejandro Garnacho was not left aside. He hoped for the best for the outgoing coach.
He stated, “Thanks for everything, boss. I will always be grateful to you for giving me the opportunity and confidence to play for this club. I will remember the good times we had together, I wish you all the best”.
Before Ten Hag was fired, Cristiano Ronaldo, who was once a great player at Manchester United, claimed that he doesn’t respect the coach.
“I don’t have respect for Erik ten Hag because he doesn’t show respect for me,’’ said Ronaldo.
A few weeks ago, Ronaldo was angered by Ten Hag’s statement that they cannot compete to win the English Premier League and Champions League.
He said, “ Erik ten Hag says they cannot compete to win the Premier League and the Champions League. As a Manchester United coach, you can not say that. You have to fight for them”.
Manchester United, while showing the manager the door, acknowledged that they are grateful for his achievements during his time with them.
“Erik ten Hag has left his role as Manchester United men’s first-team manager. We are grateful to Erik for everything he has done during his time with us and wish him well for the future”.
The club appointed Ruud van Nistelrooy to take charge as an interim head coach as the club looks for a permanent coach.
“Ruud van Nistelrooy will take charge of the team as interim head coach, supported by the current coaching team, whilst a permanent head coach is recruited,” announced the club.
The club fires Ten Hag following yesterday’s 2-1 lose over Westham United, with the team in position 14, having secured 11 points after 9 games.
