Kisumu: Man Arrested for Allegedly Killing His Wife For ‘Cheating’ on Him

Police in Muhoroni, Kisumu county on Wednesday 20th arrested a man alleged to have killed his wife during a fight at home before fleeing away.

The victim, Christine Akinyi, was found lying in a pool of blood in their house in Pawteng’ village, Awasi.

According to the police report, the couples had a heated argument shortly after the victim walked outside the house to respond to a phone call prompting the accused to find out who his wife was talking to over the phone.

An eyewitness, their daughter aged 17 told the police that her father Paul Waore Okello reached out to a panga which he used to attack his mother

Officials said Christine had serious cuts on her head, hands, and legs, which caused her to bleed to death. After the attack, the suspect tried to take his own life but was caught by police. He is now being held at the Chemelil police station ahead of his arraignment in court

This situation shines a light on the serious issue of domestic violence and its tragic effects. Many people in the community are asking for more awareness and strategies to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.

The body of the deceased has been taken to Muhoroni sub – county mortuary as  police lodge investigation into the matter.
