The script is written, or rather, was. But let’s not call it a script; scriptwriters haven’t done a thing. Let’s call it prophecy being fulfilled, for that is where liars cleanse their lies, only to lie again.

When liars forget their lies, they retreat to prayers, hoping to lie better. And when teachers can’t teach how to lie, they’re left starving, burdened with unpaid bills and empty classrooms. But I, the prophet, who can say hallelujah, lie in the name of prophecy, sell hope. Pap! 20 million made. It crosses my mind not once, not twice, but every single day, If i am in the wrong proffesion.
A child born on 13th September 2022 might not have heard the president utter one true statement. Imagine this child left in a room with a TV on, where the holymighty, PhD holder, Mtoto wa Mtu wa Kawaida, the Hustler, Reverend, speaks. When the child steps out to meet others, the only language they’ll speak is this.
Tumetenga.
Tumeweka mikakati.
Tutaweka billion moja.
Tutamaliza ufisadi.
Watu ya hapa.
And if the child is smart enough, “Musangaliree, Mwathani Agosho, and Mbuyamoree” will start knocking.
Whoever said men can lie was right. Men lie. And when they forget they lied, they lie again. When the lies lack conviction, they lie even harder. If you don’t trust them, they switch to church attire, carry Bibles, sing a chorus, and lie again. Still don’t trust them? They abduct you, beat you, and force you to accept their lies. Then, they summon Watu wa Magazeti and lie before the nation about the abductions. If the journalists question the lies, they get angry and remind us that they have PhDs.

In earlier episodes of this grand production, the line was:
“I want to tell you, there will be no handshake. But there will be an engagement in parliament on the issues that have been raised in parliament.” President William Ruto.
But in the new releases?
“This moment is not about William Ruto or Raila Odinga; this memorandum of understanding is not about sharing positions or winning elections. It is about the interests of the people of Kenya.” President Ruto during the signing of MOU
Men can act too, you know. Forget about lies, men can preach, exhaust scriptures, and still act lies.
As George Bernard Shaw aptly put it:
“A government that robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul.”
Doubt Mr. Shaw? Ask the Judiciary.
We once lived in a nation that respected democracy, but due to the ‘Rotation of the Earth,’ we’ve found ourselves on the axis of who owes who. We are now trading our own citizens.
Jimmy Carter saw the future without calling himself a prophet when he said,
“The measure of a society is found in how they treat their weakest and most helpless citizens.”
So, I ask again:
Lying and misleading—are these not the tools leaders wield to manipulate the masses and cling to power? When truth becomes a casualty of ambition, who bears the burden of lost trust? If deception is normalized, what becomes of justice and accountability? How long will societies endure the weight of false promises before the cracks in democracy become irreparable? And in the end, who truly pays the price for a world built on lies?
