Kitara FC Reveals Squad to Face Gor Mahia in Siaya; Ruto, Museveni to Attend

As the county of Siaya is expected to officially launch Jaramogi Oginga Odinga stadium, Gor Mahia is poised to face Uganda’s reigning FA cup holders Kitara FC on January 2 2025 in an international friendly match.

The official opening of this stadium with a capacity of 15,000 people will be conducted after the 4th edition of Piny Luo Festival that was launched today by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

The visitors Kitara FC have already revealed the travelling squad for the much anticipated soccer match.

The 23-man squad will be led by captain Maxwell Owachigiu, having three goalkeepers—Chrispas Kusiima, Jamil Kiyimba and Farouk Yawe.

Included in the squad are; Jasper Aheebwa, Lazaro Bwambale, Arthur Kiggundu, Benjamin Nyakoojo, Ronald Otti, Ramadhan Dudu, David Kasaija, Frank Kasumba, Erick Muber, Solomon Okwalinga, David Ndihabwe, Marvin Nyanzi, Titus Sematimba, Fred Amaku, Living Kabon, George Senkaaba, Rogers Mugisha, Patrick Kaddu and Hamim Semakula.

The head coach Wasswa Bossa will showcase his prowess after having replaced Brian Ssenyondo. This will be his first international game.

Kenyan president William Ruto and his Ugandan counterpart Yoweri Kaguta Museveni are expected to be special guests during the match.

The stadium boasts of a VIP pavilion, an 8 lane athletics track, public terraces, perimeter wall fence, ticketing boot, floodlights masts, ample parking spaces for VIP, holding rooms and VIP lounges.

The team officials who’ll be accompanying Kitara FC include: Joshua Atugonza (CEO), Wasswa Bossa (Head coach), George William Lutalo (assistant coach), Hassan Mubiru (fitness coach), Ayub Balyejusa (Trainer), Aloysious Makubuya, Enock Kayondo, Sunday Masinde, Sandra Awori, Geoffrey Tumwesigye, Timothy Kato, Innocent Tumusiime, Yahaya Businge
