Kisumu Deputy Governor Dr. Mathew Owili in partnership with a US based Endless Mountain Mercy Mission has launched a free countywide medical camp in Kisumu.

During the ongoing free medical services, thousands of the vulnerable county residents have so far benefited from the key healthcare services. The medical camp started on December 2, 2024 and is expected to end on December 18, 2024.

Speaking at Kisian primary school where the free medical camp had been held today, the Deputy Governor’s Personal Assistant Mr George Adenyo said that the initiative had brought closer to the people drawn from the entire county the much needed medical attention hence reflecting the joint effort that is aimed at improving the health and well-being of the county residents.

“Dr Mathew Owili underscores a shared commitment aimed at addressing the challenges that is affecting the healthcare at the grassroots level,” he said.

Mr Adenyo said owing to the high cost of treatment together with the high cost of living, majority of Kisumu county residents are unable to access the medical services in both public and privately owned medical facilities across the county.

“Accessing treatment has become a pipe-dream and a mirage to a big number of people as a result of the economic hardships. That is why Dr Mathew Owili has brought the free medical camp here today,” he said.

The Deputy Governor’s Personal Assistant at the same time urged the residents of central Kisumu Ward and the entire county to turn up in large numbers so that they can benefit from the free medical camp.
