Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has said that Kenya deserves better, after a chaotic Sunday service experience in Kasarani in Nairobi County.
In a post on X on Monday, April 7, ahead of his interview, Gachagua said Kenyans do not deserve a violence that he allegedly said was orchestrated by the government, with a worrying economy and a dissatisfying education system.
He accused the Kenya Kwanza government of harsh living conditions among Kenyans, many struggling to access quality healthcare as emphasized by the regime, which he said was full of lies. Gachagua further stating that the President William Ruto’s government is frustrating what is fully enshrined in the constitution the freedom of expression.
“We deserve better as a nation; not state sponsored violence, not the battered economy, not corruption, not pathological lies, not blackmails, not dysfunctional education systems, not an ineffective healthcare system, not suppression of the freedoms guaranteed by our constitution,” Gachagua wrote.
He further slammed Ruto’s leadership of failed diplomatic ties, constant abductions of Kenyans and young critics of his government. On his diplomatic ties Ruto has stated that the tea ban had been lifted by Sudan, which later Sudan refuted immediately, after the interview that the ban on Kenyan tea was still in place.
“Not abductions and brutal murder of our young people, not bad diplomatic relations and geopolitical interferences. Our Nation cannot shut under oligarchy and anarchy; we must listen to the Kenyan people and do so deliberately,” he further stated.
The raw between Gachagua and his former boss Ruto, has escalated in recent days, after the president claimed his former DP asked for KSh 10B bribe to secure him a second chance, during his interview as he toured Gachagua’ s backyard.
Gachagua allies termed the president as dishonest, with the two dropping bombshell and political intimidation to weaken each others political muscles. This move affecting Gachagua’ s allies in parliament who were stripped off from crucial Kenya Kwanza parliamentary committees, both in the National Assembly and the Senate.
