Kisumu Governor Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o on Monday 10 February announced a reorganization of his County Executive Committee (CEC) in a move aimed at boosting service delivery and governance efficiency.
In a press statement seen by The Nyanza Review, the governor made three key changes and forwarded a nomination to the County Assembly for vetting.
Nyong’o has moved Salmon Orimba from the Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Public works to Public Service, County Administration, and Participatory Development, a position previously held by Judith Oluoch who has been moved to Water, Environment, Natural Resources and Climate change.
CEC Member for the Department of Lands, Physical Planning, Housing and Urban Development Jerome Ochieng has been assigned
the County Executive Committee Member in charge of Energy, Transport, Roads and Public Works previously held by Mr. Orimba.
The governor further nominated Dr. K’Onyango Charles Otieno for the position of CEC Member for Lands, Physical Planning, Housing, and Urban Development.
His nomination has been forwarded to the County Assembly for vetting.
Speaking on the changes, Nyong’o stated that the reshuffle is meant to enhance efficiency in service delivery and ensure that key sectors operate effectively to meet the needs of Kisumu residents.
“These appointments reflect our commitment to improving governance and ensuring that critical departments are managed by capable hands,” the governor said.
