Secretary General of the Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU), Francis Atwoli has termed President William Ruto as a shrewd politician who should not be underrated.
In an interview with Citizen Tv, the COTU boss claimed that the President is a person who does not fear, something that made him stand strong and aided the impeachment of Rigathi Gachagua as Deputy President.
He has claimed that if Ruto wasn’t a fearless person, the impeachment of the former DP would have proven futile.
“Do not underrate President Ruto; he is a shrewd politician. If you stand on his way, he will show you that he has support and he doesn’t fear, unlike other politicians. Because if it were other politicians or past politicians, would have been afraid of the backlash, what would happen after the impeachment. Politics is about interest,” noted Atwoli.
Nonetheless, Atwoli blamed Gachagua, attributing his never ending talks and articulations about Mt. Kenya to his downfall. He said that the former DP messed up in his political moves, that led to his untimely removal from office.
“Gachagua dug his own grave. Talking about Mt Kenya all the time and creating his own enemies was not a good move. He did a political miscalculation of his own moves,” claimed the leader.
In regards to Ruto being described as a schemer, Saboti MP, Hon. Caleb Amisi yesterday acknowledged the President for his conniving and calculating moves he always makes in politics. This was after the President was received by a mammoth crowd in Kondele, moments after officially opening the 4th AfSNET Summit in Kisumu.
“Ruto is a very smart, vicious, conniving, calculative politician who uses money massively to achieve his goals. Deal with him at angle theta!” Said Amisi.
