The Ministry of Repentance and Holiness, led by Prophet Dr. David Owuor, on Friday 1 August 2025 dismissed widespread rumours claiming the world will end on August 2, 2025.

In an official statement released on Thursday, the Church labelled the claims as “false, baseless, and malicious.”

The statement, signed by Senior Archbishop Michael Nieswand, condemned the misinformation circulating on social media and some media platforms, noting it is intended to damage the reputation of Prophet Dr. Owuor and the Ministry as a whole.

“Nobody knows the day or the hour when the Messiah will return,” the Church stated, quoting Matthew 24:36 to emphasize that any predictions about the world ending are unbiblical.

According to the Church, Dr. Owuor has never made any such claim, and has consistently taught that only God knows the exact time of the Messiah’s return.

The Ministry clarified that it had already issued an official statement on July 13, 2025, and the clarification was broadcast on KBC News on July 14 and on Radio 47 on July 15. They also included links to the coverage on X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook.

The leadership urged media houses, bloggers, and social media users to avoid spreading unverified claims, saying such actions promote fear, confusion, and division.

“As believers, we are called to pursue truth, peace, and righteousness. Let us not be quick to spread gossip,” the statement reads.

The Ministry further called on the public to exercise discernment and focus on prayer and unity rather than rumours. The statement was released from the Church’s headquarters in Nakuru.
