US President-elect Donald Trump has announced the appointment of X owner, Elon Musk to lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Musk was appointed to work together with Vivek Ramaswamy, in order to cut wasteful expenditures and restructure Federal Agencies, as confirmed by Trump’s communications department.
“Together, these two wonderful Americans will pave the way for my Administration to dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies,” read the statement.
The announcement comes shortly after Trump had promised to create the new department and announced that he will appoint Elon Musk in the new role in case he wins the White House seat.
“I’m going to appoint Elon Musk to lead a government efficiency commission, tasked with saving trillions of dollars in fraud, waste and abuse and driving down inflation,” Trump said on October 2, 2024.
The rich duo having companies with existing and lucrative government contracts, will “provide advice and guidance from outside of Government”
According to the statement, Elon Musk was quoted saying that “this will send shockwaves through the system, and anyone involved in Government waste, which is a lot of people.”
This commission will develop an action plan to eliminate fraud and improper payments within six months, therefore saving trillions of dollars.
They will work together to liberate the US Economy, and make the U.S. Government accountable to the people.
Trump affirmed that the commission will be a Manhattan Project that the people have always dreamt about.
“It will become, potentially, ‘The Manhattan Project’ of our time, Republican politicians have dreamed about the objectives of ‘DOGE’ for a very long time,” Trump stated.
The President -elect has confirmed that he is confident that Elon and Vivek will make America great through the commission.
“ I look forward to Elon Musk and Vivek making changes to the Federal Bureaucracy with an eye on efficiency and, at the same time making life better for all Americans…I am confident they will succeed,’’ Trumpet asserted.
