DCI Arrest 2 More Suspects Linked to Death of Kasipul MP Charles Were

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested two more suspects linked to the brutal murder of Kasipul MP Charles Were on April, Wednesday 31, along Ngong Road in Nairobi.

According to a statement released by DCI on the update of the case on Wednesday, April 7, two suspects Edwin Oduor Odhiambo AKA Abdul Rashid and Dennis Sewe Munyasi, later led the investigative team to Odhiambo’s house where two pistols and other ammunitions were found.

“To additional suspects have been arrested: Edwin Oduor Odhiambo, also known as Abdul Rashid and Dennis Sewe Munyasi. Upon their arrest, the suspects led the investigators to Ewin Odhiambo’s house, where two pistols, a Retay Falcon and  a Sarsilmaz, were recovered. Additionally, nine rounds of 9mm calibre ammunition were found,” read the statement.

DCI have reported that a bag and footwear descrpition worn by the supsect at the scene of the fata incident were also recovered, and submitted for further forescenic examination.

“A bag and footwear matching the description of those worn by one of the suspects at the scene of the incident were also recovered. All items have been submitted for forensic examination,” further read the statement.

In an autopsy resulted conducted by chief government pathologist Johansen Oduor,  on Tuesday, April 6, the late MP Were sustained five gunshot wounds on the left side of the body, which damaged his organs leading to his death. Additionally, two bullets were recovered during the autopsy , in addition of the one found in his car.

Speaking during a mass at the Nairobi home of the slain MP, National Assembly Moses Wetang’ula said, the National Assembly will cater for fee at the Lee Funeral home here the late MP’s body is lying, and airlifting to Kisumu for burial at his home in Kasipul.

Wetang’ula further urged the family of the late slain MP not to focus on the heartless and reckless messages by Kenyans. His remarks coming when members of the public have accused the slain MP of mistreatment, injuries and disappearance of their kin.
