Butere, St. Joseph Girls Set for Musingu Annual Tournament This Weekend

The East African girls soccer giants Butere Girls and St Joseph Girls are among notable schools which will be gracing the Annual Musingu Opens tournament this weekend.The tournament which is slated for 25th and 26th January 2025 have attracted a number of schools which have already registered to participate.

Other schools include Musingu School who are the hosts,Butula Boys,St Mary’s Kibabii,Mukumu Boys,Ringa Boys,Emusire Secondary,Maseno School,Ambira Boys, Kakamega School among others . Uganda’s and Men Soccer East Africa champions Amus college will also participating.

The tournament will see a number of sport events being played at Musingu School grounds among other selected venues.Some of the notable actions will be Soccer, Rugby 15’s ,Hockey, Handball, Volleyball, Badminton,Chess and Table tennis.

Several schools and clubs have shown  their interest of  participating in the championship with both girls and boys getting a chance to showcase their talents across various disciplines.

Musingu Opens will be officially setting pace for several Open tournaments set to take place this year.St Mary’s Yala School Opens will also be taking place this weekend followed by Amadi Tournament in Maseno and The Annual Super 8 tournament which will take place in Mamboleo grounds,Kisumu from January 31st.

Rivalry and immense action is expected between the Scorpions of Musingu and the Green Commandos of Kakamega School as each team look forward to continuing dominance in the western region football.

In a recent move to strengthen their squad, Kakamega School has made several signings latest being the MOFA academy wonderkid ‘Messi’ who joined the team  from St Mary’s Yala School.

Musingu Opens is undoubtedly one of the major highschool tournaments in Western region setting standard for quality football and nurturing many talents across the country.
