Perennial benga artist Atomy Sifa on Thursday, January 30, put on hold his planned sale of his village resort.

In a statement on Thursday, Sifa announced that he had decided to postpone the sale of Rock City Jungle Resort.

Taking to his social media pages, he explained that the decision was due to intense criticism from his fans, the majority of whom opposed the move.

“The nightmares and the doldrums of my fans yelling and throwing stones at me, criticizing my decision to sell Rock City Jungle Resort, denied me a peaceful sleep last night,” Sifa said.

As a result, the vocal musician stated that he had halted the plans until further notice.

The former street boy further noted that, together with his manager, he is working on a digital platform aimed at fundraising to address his current financial struggles.

He appealed to his fans to contribute whatever they could once the platform was launched, saying the funds would help him send his children back to school.

Explaining the reason behind his initial decision to sell the resort, Sifa revealed that his music band was on the verge of collapsing due to financial constraints. These difficulties had also affected his children, who remained at home due to a lack of school fees.

“Before the end of the day, we will create a WhatsApp group and share the link on this wall, along with contact details, so that whoever has something small can send their contribution,” reads part of Sifa’s statement.

In recent times, the musician has been vocal in criticizing leaders from Nyanza for what he describes as a lack of visionary leadership. Among those he has singled out are Interior PS Raymond Omolo and Homa Bay County Woman Representative Joyce Atieno Bensouda, accusing them of failing to prioritize youth employment in the police and military forces.

Sifa challenged PS Omolo to follow in the footsteps of the late former Interior PS Orwa Ojode, whom he credited with helping many youths secure jobs in the police service and military.

He insisted that his efforts were not self-centered but rather aimed at speaking for underprivileged youths, reflecting on his own personal life experiences.

“I am not even getting a single coin for fighting for underprivileged youths. I am doing this wholeheartedly as I reflect on my own life experience,” Sifa said.

The singer further lamented that he has been facing significant struggles and questioned why he receives backlash whenever he reaches out to seek help.
