Alego Usonga-based Karapul Villa FC has appealed for financial support ahead of their crucial FKF Division Two League fixture against Bomachoge Borabu FC, scheduled for Sunday, April 20, 2025, at Kenyenya Stadium in Kisii County.

In a circular issued on Thursday, April 17, Club Chairman Robert Ouma said the team requires Kshs 47,000 to cover transport, players’ meals, match fees, and medical expenses for the away fixture. The club is racing against time to raise the funds before Friday, April 19.

“The vividness of our dedication and perseverance in supporting talents is seen through frustrations we undergo due to financial challenges in honoring league matches,” the statement read in part.

Karapul Villa FC is one of the few grassroots clubs representing Siaya County at the fourth tier of Kenyan football.

The club traces its origins to Karapul Primary School in Alego Usonga and has grown steadily since its formation in 2012. It earned promotion to Division Two at the end of the 2023/2024 season after years of competing in the Nyanza Regional League.

Despite its rise, the club has struggled to sustain operations due to limited financial support. Officials warn that failure to raise the required amount may force the team to forfeit the weekend match, an outcome that could attract FKF sanctions or even relegation.

Karapul Villa is considered among the most resilient community football clubs in the region, second only to the historic Red Bees FC. Club management maintains that investing in local football remains one of the most effective avenues for youth development in Siaya County.

The club has urged supporters and well-wishers to send in their contributions ahead of the Friday deadline to facilitate travel arrangements.
