Human rights activist Dr. Isaac Newton Kinity has defended the United States against criticism over its border control measures, arguing that no nation in the world allows unrestricted entry and that America has shown unmatched generosity toward global migrants.

In a statement shared with the media, Dr. Kinity said every nation has an obligation to protect its borders from external threats and unauthorised entry. He questioned why the United States faces condemnation for applying the same principles that all countries follow without debate.

“The USA has always been the most attractive nation for people across the world,” he said. “Almost 80 percent of the global population wishes to work or live in America because of its democratic ideals, freedoms, strong economy, and respect for the rule of law.”

Dr. Kinity said the United States occupies a unique place in global humanitarian leadership. He noted that America is the only nation offering a Diversity Visa Green Card Lottery to 176 countries every year, describing the programme as a rare gesture of fairness and opportunity that no other nation has ever replicated. According to him, thousands enter the country legally each year and are later allowed to apply for naturalisation, something he said demonstrates America’s openness to foreigners more than any other nation.

He added that the USA has consistently led global disaster response efforts, often being the first to offer humanitarian assistance when crises strike.

Kinity said he was surprised by the wave of protests that erupted when former President Donald Trump introduced extra measures to control illegal entry into the United States. He described many of the demonstrations as reactions rooted in ignorance, noting that the critics failed to understand the global pressure on US borders.

He warned that if America were to open its borders freely for only six months, more than 1.5 billion people would enter the country, overwhelming infrastructure, destabilising the economy, and threatening national stability. Kinity said unemployment, inflation, crime, and poverty would skyrocket, turning the USA into a nation unable to support its own people.

“No country can accommodate such an unpredictable influx without preparation. he said adding that every nation has a limit based on land size and infrastructure. Ignoring the realities is dangerous.

The former trade unionist said it concerned him that many Americans opposing the restrictions did not understand how much the world desires access to their country. He argued that controlled entry is necessary for national stability, insisting that the US remains the most humane and generous nation even with tightened border measures.

He further praised former President Trump for prioritising American welfare during his administration. Dr. Kinity noted that Trump once invited him to his inauguration ceremony in the United States and renewed his appointment to the Presidential Advisory Board of the Republican National Committee, recognition he said reflected his commitment to global advocacy.

Kinity urged critics of US border policies to consider the scale of global migration and the consequences of uncontrolled entry. He insisted that America’s humanitarian legacy remains unmatched and argued that its generosity should not be used against it.

“The USA stands above all nations in humanity, its openness, opportunities, and global leadership cannot be compared to any other country.” he said
