Nakuru resident Engineer Evans Kimori of Kimori Foundation has today written to United States of America’s President Donald Trump requesting deportation of Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika who had gone to seek medical services and is allegedly on maternity leave.

In a letter circulating on the x space dated Tuesday March 25, 2025 through the US Embassy in Kenya, addressed to the White House in Pennsylvania, Washington DC, Kimori has expressed his dissatisfaction with the prolonged stay of the Nakuru governor in the US citing that her absence while critical services in Nakuru are deteriorating which are as a result of neglect of her responsibilities.

“As an elected governor, she has a constitutional duty to ensure that public services, including healthcare, remain accessible to the people. However, her prolonged absence while critical services in Nakuru deteriorate amounts to neglect of her responsibilities despite her receiving huge some of salaries,” Mr.Kinori stated.

Governor Kihika who was elected in August 2025 as the Nakuru County boss has allegedly been seeking maternity and newborn medical attention in the US for a period, which to the residents of Nakuru seem too much extended making service delivery to lag behind.

While maternity leave is recognized under Kenyan law for upto 90 days, Kihika has been absent for nearly 5months, creating a leadership vacuum in County which is of concern since she is a top government official in a top position.

The Kinori Foundation’s head further questioned the governor’s decision to seek medical services in the US whereas her county residents lack essential healthcare.

“Her decision to seek medical services abroad comes after her administration ordered the closure of War Memorial Hospital, a critical public healthcare facility that has served Nakuru residents since 1906. this closure, despite numerous court orders mandating its reopening, has left thousands of residents especially mothers, children and patients with chronic illnesses without essential healthcare. While she enjoys advanced medical care in the US, the very people who elected her continue to suffer due to the collapse of local medical services under her leadership,” the statement read in part.
