Kenya Primary Schools Heads Association (KEPSHA) has today Saturday, March 1, 2025 sworn in Ali Fuad as the new national chairperson, following the demise of its Chairman Johnson Nzioka in February in a fatal accident along Mombasa Road, Athi River.
Speaking after the swearing in at the KEPSHA offices in Nairobi, Mr. Fuad affirmed that he will advocate for the proper implementation of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) and improve the welfare of the primary school heads.
“KEPSHA will continue to be a strong advocate for the effective implementation of the CBC. We must ensure that teachers receive the necessary training, that schools are adequately resourced, and that policies are aligned with the best interests of our learners,” he stated.
Mr.Nzioka was laid to rest yesterday Friday, February 28, 2025 at his home in Machakos, County.
He had led the organisation from March 2021 until his untimely death in February 16, 2025.
Fuad has vowed to prioritise climate action in schools citing that schools ought to be at the forefront in instilling environmental consciousness in learners and implementing sustainable practices such as tree planting, waste management and clean energy adoption.
While addressing the heads, Mr. Fuad urged them to remain steadfast in the Association’s mission and unwavering in pursuit of educational excellence.
He eulogised his predecessor as a dedicated leader recognized for championing CBC and promised to carry on his legacy.
‘May his legacy inspire us to work even harder to achieve our shared vision,” he said.
