EACC’s Police Service Audit Set To Identify Systemic Weaknesses and loopholes

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)has launched a comprehensive audit of the systems, policies, procedures, and practices of work of the National Police Service (NPS) today, February 10,2025.

This audit is set to identify systemic weaknesses and loopholes conducive to corruption in Kenya’s police operations hence realising a corruption free police service.

Upon audit completion, the EACC will compile a report outlining the findings and reform recommendations for the Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja to implement.

Speaking at the launch held at the National Police College Embakasi “A” Campus, following a post made on EACC’s official x account, EACC Chairperson Dr. David Oginde and CEO Abdi Mohamud underscoring the significance of the systems review, described the audit as a vital strategy to enhance integrity, accountability, and efficiency in police operations in the country.

While speaking at the launch, the Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja lauded EACC’s move further welcoming the system audit, recognizing that it will strengthen ongoing police reforms thereby fostering a more transparent and accountable National Police Service.

The IG affirmed that he is committed to implementing the anti-corruption recommendations arising from the proposed EAC audit review.
