Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has hit back at critics targeting President William Ruto and advocating for his removal, firmly stating that the President is here to stay.
Speaking during a rally held in Kibirech, Elgeyo Marakwet County, yesterday, Sudi dismissed the critics, whom he referred to as “wakora,” and mocked their online campaigns. He maintained that their efforts to unseat the President would not succeed.
“Si mnajua wale wakora wa mtandao kule Nairobi? Wanapiga kelele ati sijui Ruto must go? Si mlisikia niliwaambia jana, waruke juu, waende chini, waende kando, hakuna penye Ruto anaenda,” he remarked.
Sudi further stated that leadership in Kenya is not the preserve of a select few, insisting that anyone has the potential to lead the nation.
He also jokingly asked residents of the North Rift region to support his bid for the presidency in the future.
“Si mnajua wale wanajifanyaga, wanafikirianga lazima wao tu waongoze nchi. Hapana! Ata Mluhya, Mturkana anaweza ongoza; Mkenya yeyote ako na uwezo wa kuongoza. Si ata mimi mtanitanipa rais siku ingine?” he posed.
The MP’s comments come at a time when criticism towards President Ruto and his administration is on the rise.
Following last year’s Gen Z-led anti-government demonstrations, some Kenyans have taken to social media to push for the President’s removal. The hashtag #RutoMustGo has been trending on the X platform, underscoring the growing political discontent.
