While speaking during a rally in Kakamega, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has slammed former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua over his continued criticism against the Kenya Kwanza Government, months after his unceremonious impeachment.

Mudavadi urged Gachagua to move on with his life and stop looking for sympathy from Kenyans by repudiating government agendas, and causing unnecessary drama aimed at dividing Kenyans and tainting the government’s reputation.

“If somebody was mourning then he has finished the mourning. The mourning period is over. Kenya must move on, it is not there to listen to you every other day. We must develop the country and that is where President Ruto is taking us,” Mudavadi said.

The CS further noted that Gachagua cannot come to the political podium having been impeached, and as according to the Constitution, those ousted cannot hold any public office. He laughed at the former DP, claiming that he cannot even vie for the post of a village elder, adding that he is just waiting time to delve in politics.

“The law says that if you have been impeached you cannot have public office even a nyumba kumi,” claimed Mudavadi, adding, “Analyse the law because we do not want to be deceived by someone who cannot hold public office. Let us not waste our time, let us move forward.”

Mudavadi highlighted that the former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko was impeached and he could not hold that office again, as well as Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu who could not proceed for any post after his impeachment.

Gachagua since his ouster on October last year, has been raspingly attacking the government, with an aim to revitalize his political dream. He is currently in deliberate discussion and consultations with various leaders including Ferdinand Waititu, Kalonzo Musyoka among others in his bid to rekindle his political ambition.

Today, at his Wamunyoro residence in Nyeri, he met with elected MCAs from Nakuru where he had a consultative meeting with them. During the meeting, he vowed to continue to prioritizing the country’s vision.

“I continue to listen to the people as they are the ultimate owners of the power as espoused by our constitution. I will continue engaging leaders from the grassroots to the national level to bring together a comprehensive report on the economic situation of the country and the way forward,” assured Gachagua.
