Vocal Meru self proclaimed billionaire Hon. Michael Mutembei Makarina has written a letter to President William Ruto, asking him to consider Suna East MP Junet Mohamed for Interior CS position.

The disability activist entrusts Junet with the role which is yet to remain vacant following anticipated swearing in of CS Interior, Prof. Kithure Kindiki as the Deputy President.

“As we approach the pivotal moment of swearing in our new Deputy President, Abraham Kithure Kindiki, it is imperative to address the pressing need for effective leadership within the Ministry of Interior. In this regard, I wish to express my unequivocal support for Junet Mohammed as the prospective Interior Cabinet Secretary,” Mutembei wrote.

He said that Kenyans are yearning for leaders who embody integrity, accountability, and a steadfast commitment to service, claiming that Junet Mohammed has consistently demonstrated these qualities throughout his career.

He added that the Suna East lawmaker has been advocating for the rights and welfare of citizens, with a track record that reflects a profound understanding of the complexities that govern national security and internal affairs.

The business tycoon told the President that Junet’s charisma and leadership style align comfortably to the high population of Kenyans which Ruto’s government should take into consideration.

“ In an era where the expectations of the populace are high, it is vital that your administration appoints individuals who not only possess the requisite expertise but also share a vision for a safer, more inclusive Kenya. Junet’s leadership style, characterized by collaboration and responsiveness, aligns with the aspirations of Kenyans for a government that prioritizes their concerns,” he urged.

He went further beseeching the head of state to assign Junet the role due to his exemplary leadership, that is compatible to Kenyans and a drive for national unity.

“Therefore, I urge you to consider Junet Mohammed for this critical role, as his appointment would signal a commitment to transformative leadership—one that is responsive to the needs of all Kenyans and dedicated to fostering unity and progress.’’

Before now, there have been rumours that Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) poised Junet Mohamed for the role, as one of their demands from the Kenya Kwanza Government.

It is reported that the party calmed the tension during Gen Z demonstrations and supported the impeachment of Rigathi Gachagua as DP.

However, Junet Mohamed refuted these claims, stating that neither him nor ODM party has such arrangements.

The office of the Deputy President became vacant after Rigathi was impeached by the Senate and Interior CS Kindiki appointed and eventually approved as the next DP.

Unfortunately, Court issued orders that barred Kindiki from assuming the office awaiting judgement of the case before the High Court.

Should the High Court uphold Senate’s resolution, Kindiki will be sworn in as DP and his Interior CS position will remain vacant.
