Ugunja Constituency MP aspirant Sam Okoyo has landed in the country ahead of his highly anticipated homecoming set for Tuesday, October 29th.
Okoyo, who has been running his campaign from the United Kingdom, will hold a series of meetings in Nairobi on Sunday and Monday before heading to Ugunja for his homecoming party on Tuesday.
The ODM secretary general for the UK branch has declared his interest in the Ugunja parliamentary seat following the appointment of former MP Opiyo Wandayi as the cabinet secretary for Energy and Petroleum.
He is set to vie for the Orange Democratic Movement party ticket against politician Otieno Alur, NGCDF fund manager Moses Omondi, Engineer Frederick Owino (ZB) among other candidates.
Speaking to Nyanza Review shortly after landing at JKIA, Okoyo, who was received by his campaign committee, expressed that he feels refreshed to be back home and is eager to engage with the Ugunja constituents.
His chief campaigner, Waziri Makasundia, stated that the hopeful lawmaker has a packed week ahead, with numerous meetings and community support activities, including fundraising events.
“We have a very tight schedule this coming week, with a series of meetings planned, and we’re looking forward to a successful week,” he said.
Okoyo is also expected to participate in interviews on local radio stations to address matters of public concerns.
