Trans Nzoia residents led by Hospital ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Eric Mwangale have dismissed claims by Nandi senator Samson Cherargei of Governor George Natembeya being tribal.

Addressing the press on Monday, April 14, the Mwangale shut the remarks, accusing Cherargei of interfering with the leadership of the county, as plans to impeach Natembeya is a failed mission.

“We do not want leaders from outside the county to plan the politics of our county, you are not even a voter or an MCA and you are talking of impeaching Natembeya! If you have plan in senate to impeach the governor, then you should forget about your plan,” Mwangale stated.

Echoing his sentiments Denis Wambalaba, added that the calls and the Tawe Movement driven by the governor is not tribal in anyway, as it has attracted the larger Mulembe Nation, to access the benefits of the national politics, under a united community.

“When the governor stated talking about the issues affecting Western Region, the people of Busia, Kakamega, Vihiga and Bungoma knew that his calls are right, as for the bigger share in the country politics, the community should be united,” he added.

Martin Waliaula called on Bungoma senator David Wakoli to respect the governor, urging the his calls for Luhya unity will give the community an upper bargaining power in the 2027 general elections.

“He is fighting for all Luhya, he is at the forefront of bring the community together. Wakoli should respect the governor, and his calls to ensure that the community is united, to have a higher bargaining power in the next government,” Waliaula remarked.
