President William Ruto while attending a church service and official opening of the AIC Kipkorgot Church in Ainabkoi Constituency, Uasin Gishu County, said that he is going to continue with expanding his government in order to include more Kenyans, despite facing criticisms.
The President who echoed on his recent cabinet reshuffle that introduced former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s allies in the government after absorbing Raila Odinga, expressed his commitment in ensuring unity and understanding amongst Kenyans in a bid to change and transform the country.
The head of state highlighted his dedication in creating job opportunities to Kenyans, bolstering farmers welfare and improving living standards for the people for a stable nation.
During the service, Ruto vowed to always drive for change and ensure the country is transformed through having partnerships with various stakeholders and politicians, in a move to fulfil his Kenya Kwanza manifesto.
” I will not let you down. I will be at the forefront to change and transform this nation and it shall happened,” assured the President.
On December 19, 2024, Ruto made some changes in his cabinet while injecting new energy to his administration. He moved Kipchumba Murkomen from the Sports docket to the Interior Ministry, which was left vacant after Prof. Kithure Kindiki was sworn in as the DP, following Rigathi Gachagua’s ouster.
Salim Mvurya was delegated the Sports Ministry as former president Uhuru Kenyatta’s allies — Mutahi Kagwe, former Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui and William Kabogo appointed in the Agriculture and Livestock; Investments, Trade and Industry; and ICT dockets, respectively. Also, Ndiritu Muriithi was nominated as the Chairperson of the Boards of Directors at KRA.
A section of Kenyans, however, refuted the cabinet changes, citing lack of inclusivity, regional and gender balances. Among the critics include former Governor Kiraitu Murungi who decried of Meru community not involved in the administration while the Kenya Human Rights Commission complained of violation of articles 10, 27 and 232 of the Constitution on ethnicity, regional and gender balance, respectively.
