Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has revealed the secret surrounding his attack in Limuru during a burial ceremony on November 28, 2024.

Speaking during a church service at Kanunga Baptist Church in Mukurwe-ini in Nyeri County, Rigathi Gachagua has revealed that the government is using the Kikuyu youths to create division amongst them in a bid to split the Mt. Kenya region.

Gachagua claimed that the government held various meetings with the youths, paid them in order to kill him then they would be arraigned in court. This scheme would then be paraded as a Kikuyu killing a fellow Kikuyu, in a move to dismantle the region.

“ Na tumekuja kujua ilikuwa mpango wa serikali, watafute vijana wawatume waue Rigathi Gachagua alafu wawashike wapelekwe kortini waseme ni Mkikuyu ameua Mkikuyu. Ni njia tu ya kutupiganisha,” revealed Gachagua.

He also said that President William Ruto is committed to ensuring the Mt. Kenya region is disunited and destroyed, adding that his tactic is using the youths to battle against themselves in order to create confusion amongst them.

The leader asked President William Ruto to cease from using the youths to cause mayhem in the region. He claimed that the President is not grateful after the region supported his bid to clinch on the presidency.

Gachagua while urging the youths to stop being used by politicians, issued a warning to Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja over Limuru attacks, saying that his time is coming and he will answer to all problems he is facing.

“The National Police know the perpetrators but aren’t arresting them because they were sent by the Government. Inspector General, you’ll have to account for this someday,” said Gachagua.

This comes after weeks of no arrests of those involved since the attempted assassination of Gachagua in the burial. Gachagua decried of injustice he is facing as the IG has not arrested anybody alleged to have attacked him during the incident.

Gachagua was attacked by unknown goons, who left his vehicle and property destroyed, as several people were left with scores of injuries.
