James Oyugi Were MCA Nyalenda B ward in Kisumu County organized a tournament in Nyalenda B ward to create employment opportunities for youth. He mentioned that sports not only keep young people engaged but also offer employment opportunities.
In an interview with Nyanza Review he mentioned that he is planning to involve Premier League leaders to identify talented youth for their teams.
“We organized a tournament to bring young people together and teach them how they can behave responsibly in the community. We’ve found that through football, we can create unity and help them develop a focused mindset. This opportunity will also show them that they can play football, which can assist in identifying talents during the finals. Our aim is to create employment opportunities for the youth by involving them in Premier League activities,” he stated.
He further explained that County Government has allocated Kshs 10 million to help construct a playground at Nanga School, but floods issues have delayed the progress.He promised, that immediately after the water has reduced he will complet the project.
In his final remarks he urged parents to ensure that their kids returns to school, he also requested them to be responsible and guid their children according.
“Parents to ensure that their children return to school next week,these children are our future leaders they should be encouraged and guidance to prevent them from engaging in negative activities,” he said.
