Betty Oranga, a promising young leader is poised and braced for the future leadership of Suna East Constituency, which is currently under the tenure of Junet Mohamed.
Hailing from Suna Central ward, Oranga came to limelight when she was appointed the Director in the office of Social Protection and Citizen affairs in the ministry of Labour and Social Protection in the Kenya Kwanza Government.
Determined to take charge and bring change in Suna East Constituency, Director Oranga has stood strong with her people and built herself a good and reputable foundation.
She is currently initiating development projects, together with Hon. Eliud Owalo who is the Deputy Chief of Staff in charge of performance and delivery Management in the Executive Office of the President. Previously, Owalo was the Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communication and Digital Economy.
Director Oranga has affirmed and ignited hope to her people that she is ready to uproot the current leadership. She has, however received support in her plight to become Suna East next MP.
Seemingly, the director is inside President William Ruto’s plan to enroot UDA candidacy in the ODM affiliated area.
According to people within the locality, Oranga has gained massive support. Most of the people say that a future of the constituency seems luminous with her.
While speaking to the Nyanza Review, Brian Omondi, alias Buju Banton, a resident from the constituency says that Betty Oranga has shown exceptional leadership qualities that resonate with the community’s needs.
Omondi attributes her support to poor students as a significant and bold step in shaping the future of the area.
“She has made significant contributions, such as sponsoring several students by covering their full school fees, including three boys at Migori Boys High School,” asserted Omondi.
He also confirms that the director is a courageous woman who stood with the President in an area where UDA was inferior and turned out victorious.
“Reflecting on the 2022 elections, Oranga’s commitment stood out as she was the only woman in Suna East, Migori County, who openly supported the President and advanced the UDA agenda, while others remained silent. This shows her courage and her capability to stand with the people of Suna East in any situation. She has shown she can fight for Suna East to receive what rightfully belongs to them,” he narrated.
Irene Hawi, coming from Suna Central ward, also has a firm stand that director Oranga is the choice of the Suna East Constituency and the one they build their trust on. Irene reiterates that Oranga connects the local people with the Kenya Kwanza Government and hence she is their source of help.
“She has reached out to widows across Suna East whose homes were in poor condition, connecting them with the Dr. Raymond Foundation to ensure they now have decent housing,” affirmed Irene.
From Kakrao ward in the same constituency, Ochola Brown asserts that the youth will be favoured if Director Oranga clinches the seat, claiming that Oranga is a down to earth woman, whose dedication to her people is cheerful.
He said, “Betty Oranga has also linked several youths with job opportunities, helping them build brighter futures. Her dedication to Suna East’s development is truly inspiring.”
President Ruto’s administration is finding its ways to Raila Odinga’s backyard, unlike previous years when such were unheard of, and Director Betty Oranga is Ruto’s sure bet to capture Suna East.
